Service Description: This map service is designed to show drovers, graziers and the public the
location of the stock route network certified under the Stock Route Management
Act 2002. The layers provide an indication of where stock can travel, graze
and access water facilities on the stock route network. Classifications have
been assigned to provide an indication of the frequency of use or strategic
significance for each route. The classifications are not required by
regulation, they have been included to assist local government and State
government in prioritising investment, management activities, planning and
decisions relating to land tenure. Layers in this service include: Travelling
stock facilities, Proposed stock route changes for consultation (displayed
when available), Stock routes and Stock route reserves. Travelling stock
facilities are updated as required. Proposed stock route changes for
consultation are updated one day after they have been updated in the Stock
Route Management System, but are only displayed during the six week
consultation phase. The Stock routes and Stock route reserve layers are
updated nightly from the SRMS.
