This layer is intended only for purposes under the State Planning Policy 2017 (SPP) in determining Matters of State Environmental Significance (MSES). Local refinement is required to apply the correct definition of MSES. For MSES that is relevant for this layer, The SPP defines as the following natural values and areas :(v) Category A, B, C or R areas on the regulated vegetation management map that are located within a defined distance* from the defining banks of a relevant watercourse identified on the vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map.*Note: Defined distance - see State Development Assessment Provisions, Code 16: Native vegetation clearing unless the area is a category R area. If the area is a category R area, the 50m regrowth watercourse and drainage feature area as defined by the Vegetation Management Act 1999 applies. This layer shows the vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map of the Vegetation Management Act 1999 produced by the Department of Resources. It combines the following:vegetation management 1:100,000-1:250,000 watercourse and drainage feature map vegetation management 1: 25,0000 watercourse and drainage feature mapUnder the Vegetation Management Act 1999 a:watercourse has the meaning given by the Water Act 2000, section 5, but a reference to a watercourse in this Act includes a reference to anywhere that is downstream of the downstream limit of the watercourse. drainage feature has the meaning given by the Water Act 2000, schedule 4.See MSES Methodology Appendix B. A local application of this MSES value should be applied. |
