Service Description: *User notice* This service replaces: * PlanningCadastre/AreasOfRegionalInterest * PlanningCadastre/CoordinatedProjects * PlanningCadastre/PriorityDevelopmentAreas * PlanningCadastre/StateDevelopmentAreas This is an open data map service hosting spatial data representing State Planning area boundaries and associated data. The service displays Regional Plans including Development Areas and Regional Land Use Categories. Areas of Regional Interest: The areas of regional interest (including Priority Living Area, Priority Agricultural Area, and Strategic Environmental Area) provide greater certainty for investment in the development of the region’s agricultural and environmental resources and identified centres and localities, while still accommodating compatible resource activities to maximise economic development opportunities. Strategic Cropping Land is used to define Strategic Cropping Areas and is the fourth area of regional interest under the Regional Planning Interests Act 2014. Strategic Cropping Areas layer is not available in this map service. Please refer to other NRMMRRD published services for Strategic Cropping Areas. Coordinated Projects - The Coordinator-General: This layer is to show locations of current proposed infrastructure projects for the Coordinator- General’s assessment and approval under the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 (SDPWO Act). Priority Development Areas: A Priority Development Area (PDA) is a site declared by the state government to facilitate the development of land in Queensland for economic development or community purposes. Existing interim land use plans and development schemes for sites previously declared as Urban Development Areas (UDAs) remain valid and those land use and development requirements still apply and can be referenced as PDAs under the Economic Development Act 2012. State Development Areas: State development Areas are specialist planning areas created under the Section 77 of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971. Their creation promotes economic development and addresses areas of market failure in the development of industrial land and multi-user infrastructure corridors in Queensland by: * Providing guidance and development certainty to industry * Controlling development in a way that is considerate of existing industry and surrounding development * Protecting environmental values in the region * Ensuring an effective development assessment process. The department is responsible for the planning, establishment, and ongoing management of state development areas throughout Queensland. These represent a significant investment by the government in the long-term planning and development of strategic land assets in Queensland. Layers within the service are controlled by scale dependencies to aid display.
