Description: Some groundwater dependent ecosystem (GDE) areas are managed under the Queensland "Water Plan (Great Artesian Basin and Other Regional Aquifers) 2017" (GABORA). The GABORA GDE area Yelarbon Desert is an extensive area in the landscape where groundwater discharges to the shallow subsurface from an aquifer managed under the GABORA water plan, resulting in a salt scald at ground level that supports a unique ecosystem.
