This dataset describes the flood extents as a result of a Sunny Day Failure (SDF) for the referable dams in Queensland. SUNNY DAY FAILURE - The predicted extent of a flood caused by a dam failure event that occurs without a wet weather event. The flood extents displayed within this dataset were created by individual dam owners using a range of flood modelling techniques, based on survey and spatial data sets of differing ages and quality. Some dam owners may have used different modelling techniques for individual dam sites. These individual flood extents have been merged to create a state wide dataset. This dataset is updated regularly when new flood extents are received from dam owners and will reflect the contents of published emergency action plans. |
