Description: This data represents the maximum inundation of the February 2019 flood over Western Queensland covering the Flinders and Diamantina River catchment areas following an extreme weather event, caused by a remnant monsoonal low. Data was captured from an RGB 3m PlanetScope moaiced temporary image service. This was used to perform a supervised image classification to generate an intial vector polygon, which was then manually checked and modified to represent the inundation area at the time of satellite capture. For upstream areas on the Flinders Catchment area that had flooded earlier in the event when still under cloud and had no flood water present in the Planet imagery, Sentinel2 imagery was used to manually digitse flood extents. This dataset was captured by Spatial Information Officers using ESRI ArcGIS software. Capture scale is 1:5000, recommended scale for use of data is 1:15000 or greater.
