description: This dataset represents the maximum inundation of the April 2017 flood in the Logan and Albert Rivers following the heavy deluge of rain from ex-Cyclone Debbie. This dataset was digitised from 15 cm orthophotography and 3 metre satellite imagery taken near the hieight of the flood. The completeness of the data is dependent upon image quality and the ability to identify feature detail e.g. • The imagery can be compromised by cloud shadows. • Sun reflection can also further confuse water interpretation. • The floodwater had receded at the time of image capture but the landscape was still heavily inundated from later rainfall. • Some areas of cultivation are low lying and normally inundated with heavy rain, often being confused as flooding where they adjoin the flood path. • The mosaic also can have uneven colour balance. • Some areas within the mosaic were not entirely covered by the imagery and whiteout occurred in certain areas. This dataset was captured by Spatial Information Officers using ESRI ArcGIS software. Capture scale is 1:2500, recommended scale for use of data is 1:5000 or greater. Note: This data has not been ground verified.
