Description: This is the electronic map called 'Strategic Cropping Land Zone Map'. This dataset defines the five Strategic Cropping Land (SCL) zones to which the zonal criteria apply, and which together define the total areal extent of the SCL policy in Queensland. Broad climatic zones were used with the western and northern boundaries developed from crop production and climatic modelling. The zone boundaries have been mapped to align with features such as roads and property (cadastral) boundaries.
Description: This is the approved map that identifies areas of strategic cropping land (SCL) and is used to define the strategic cropping area, one of the four areas of regional interest under the Regional Planning Interest Act 2014. This version has removed SCL validation decisions and excluded areas that may be above the slope thresholds determined using generalised slope data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). This map is prepared using current data from the Queensland Agricultural Land Audit and the most recent Queensland Land Use Mapping Program (QLUMP) data identified as production from agriculture or plantations. All QLUMP identified areas where no part of that area is within 5 km of mapped Class A agricultural land were removed or where high quality soils mapping was available. Areas covered by categories A or B in the current Regulated Vegetation Management map are removed. Already protected areas are removed. These are National Parks, State Forests, Timber Reserves and Forest Reserves in the DNRM Digital Cadastral Data Base (DCDB). Urban areas are removed. These areas are: within the urban footprints in the Far North Queensland, South East Queensland, Mackay Isaac and Whitsunday, and Wide Bay Burnett regional plans or within 20 metres of and including groups of 20 or more cadastral parcels with areas less than one hectare or mapped as residential in the QLUMP dataset. Major infrastructure, including existing open cut mines, power stations, airports and dams have been removed from areas that intersect with the SCL map based on visual interpretations and QLUMP mapping. Broad climatic zones were used with the western boundary developed from crop production and climatic modelling. Remaining areas less than 2 hectares in coastal areas and 10 hectares in western areas were removed.

Description: This is the electronic map called 'Sub-zones for strategic cropping land mitigation rates'. This dataset defines the Strategic Cropping Land (SCL) subzones that define relevant SCL mitigation rates. Subzones apply only within the Western Cropping and Coastal Queensland SCL zones. For remaining areas, mitigation rates apply to the zones. The subzone boundaries have been mapped to align with features such as local government and property (cadastral) boundaries.
