Description: This dataset is a collective layer of ALL artificial reefs describe as at December 2018. The artificial reefs have been designed specifically for recreational fishing with special activity notices gazetted to prohibit and/or restrict several other recreational activities and commercial fishing. Fines may be issued for not complying with the special activity notices.
Description: This dataset is the spatial representation of the Pubic Moorings managed by QPWS areas (Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service) within the marine areas managed under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. Public moorings are available to all Reef users. Blue double cone shaped buoys attached to the moorings have a colour coded band explaining the class (vessel length), time limits and maximum wind strength limits applicable to the mooring.
Description: This dataset is the spatial representation of the Reef Protection Markers (RPMs) managed by QPWS (Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service) within areas managed under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. The RPM define no anchoring areas for protecting coral reefs from anchor damage. A person must not drop an anchor for a vessel, aircraft or any other facility in a no anchoring area.
Description: The 72 Fish Habitat Areas in this dataset are declared under Section 120 - Fisheries Act-1994 and Schedule 3-Queensland Fisheries Regulations 2008, effective 17 March 2017. This is a composite of ALL Fish Habitat Area boundary areas gazetted/regazetted between 1998-2017. (The 'OUTER BOUNDARY' conforms where possible,to base data, prepared from the Digital Cadastral Data Base (DCDB) produced by the Dept of Natural Resources and Mines(DNRM), and representative of Real Property and Crown Land boundaries. For EXCLUSIONS within these FHA areas - refer to referenced gazettals. Latest Gazettals March 2017. Note: This dataset has NOT had the 'OUTER BOUNDARY' line validated with the current cadastre which may have occurred in the last 6 months. The indicative boundaries have not been adjusted in accordance with DCDB shifts that are continuously refined by ground survey and survey control. Cadastre Currency is varying for the 72 areas and described in the attribute data (April 2015-Nov 2016)- To facilitate easy reference to plans use the hyperlink field now included within the attribute details.
