The service displays Regional\nPlans including Development Areas and Regional Land Use Categories.\n\nAreas of Regional Interest: The areas of regional interest (including Priority\nLiving Area, Priority Agricultural Area, and Strategic Environmental Area)\nprovide greater certainty for investment in the development of the region\u2019s\nagricultural and environmental resources and identified centres and\nlocalities, while still accommodating compatible resource activities to\nmaximise economic development opportunities.\n\nStrategic Cropping Land is used to define Strategic Cropping Areas and is the\nfourth area of regional interest under the Regional Planning Interests Act\n2014. Strategic Cropping Areas layer is not available in this map service.\nPlease refer to other NRMMRRD published services for Strategic Cropping Areas.\n\nCoordinated Projects - The Coordinator-General: This layer is to show\nlocations of current proposed infrastructure projects for the Coordinator-\nGeneral\u2019s assessment and approval under the State Development and Public Works\nOrganisation Act 1971 (SDPWO Act).\n\nPriority Development Areas: A Priority Development Area (PDA) is a site\ndeclared by the state government to facilitate the development of land in\nQueensland for economic development or community purposes. Existing interim\nland use plans and development schemes for sites previously declared as Urban\nDevelopment Areas (UDAs) remain valid and those land use and development\nrequirements still apply and can be referenced as PDAs under the Economic\nDevelopment Act 2012.\n\nState Development Areas: State development Areas are specialist planning areas\ncreated under the Section 77 of the State Development and Public Works\nOrganisation Act 1971. Their creation promotes economic development and\naddresses areas of market failure in the development of industrial land and\nmulti-user infrastructure corridors in Queensland by:\n\n  * Providing guidance and development certainty to industry \n\n  * Controlling development in a way that is considerate of existing industry and surrounding development \n\n  * Protecting environmental values in the region \n\n  * Ensuring an effective development assessment process. \n\nThe department is responsible for the planning, establishment, and ongoing\nmanagement of state development areas throughout Queensland.
