These areas, if revegetated through agroforestry (or other strategic rehabilitation initiatives) could benefit from improved land condition, including the capacity of the land to retain rainfall and water, more sustainable use of agricultural land and potentially supplement landholder income from carbon credits (where these activities qualify under the Emissions Reduction Fund).</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>

An area is identified by the audit as being important for agriculture if it has all the requirements for agriculture to be successful and sustainable, is part of a critical mass of land with similar characteristics and is strategically significant to the region or the state. The areas shown on this map have been identified by the audit on the basis of advice from regional and industry experts and from synthesis of maps and information on current and potential use of land for the range of agricultural land uses considered by the audit. The information used to derive this map varies in its spatial accuracy and resolution. In recognition of these limitations, the information has been generalised for use in strategic decision-making at the regional level. It is indicative only of broad areas within which land important for agricultre is located. It is recommended that more detailed investigation to map the spatial extent and location of important land would be required before the information is suitable for finer scale decision-making such as in statutory land-use planning.

This dataset is GDA2020 compatible. The source data, and therefore the captured features are georeferenced as GDA94 (horizontal only). The horizontal accuracy of the geo-referencing and/or data collection method for this example greater than the datum offset between GDA94 and GDA2020 (1.8 meters). The resulting dataset has been nominated as a low-accuracy GDA2020 dataset. As this data has not directly measured in GDA2020, nor transformed to GDA2020 the resulting data is 'GDA2020 Compatible', not Compliant.
