The Queensland Wader Study Group (QWSG) gives the applicant a non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the count data supplied in accordance with this request (the count data) for the stated purposes of the study.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>2. The licence ends 1 year after the date QWSG supplies the count data to the applicant.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>3. The applicant must ensure QWSG is acknowledged in all uses of the count data in publications of any kind as follows:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>“Count data used in this publication supplied by the Queensland Wader Study Group (a special interest group of the Queensland Ornithological Society Incorporated)”.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>4. The applicant must not present the count data verbatim in any publication without QWSG’s prior written permission.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>5. As soon as practicable after the count data is used in a publication, the applicant must give QWSG (free of charge):</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>(a) for a hard copy publication – 4 copies of it or, if the publication is a confidential report, the relevant provisions of the report using the count data; or</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>(b) for an electronic publication – an electronic copy of it or, if the publication is a confidential report, the relevant provisions of the report using the count data.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>6. QWSG is not liable for any errors in the count data or for any misuse or misinterpretation of the count data.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>7. The applicant indemnifies QWSG against all claims, liabilities, loss, damage, costs and expenses that may incur or arise out of the applicant’s use of the count data.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><P><SPAN>The GSMP Roost sites layer is compiled from information supplied to the Department of Environment and Science. Whilst all care is taken in the preparation of this layer, neither the Department of Environment and Science nor its officers or staff accept any responsibility for any loss or damage which may result from inaccuracy or omission from the use of the information contained therein. Due to the shifting nature of shorebirds, substrate and vegetation cover, acurracy of roost site boundaries is given at +/- 50 metres. Due to varying sources of data, spatial locations may not coincide when overlaid.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV>
The data was captured from various surveys over the period of 2007-2019. Previously mapped roost sites were identified by Milton, D. & Harding, S 2007, (‘Shorebirds of the Burnett Coast: surveys of critical high tide roosts’, Queensland Wader Study Group, Report for Burnett – Mary Regional Group for Natural Resource Management) and Birdlife 2019 (Counter Resources, accessed 10/08/2019, <https://birdlife.org.au/projects/shorebirds-2020/counter-resources>). Roost site boundaries were reviewed and updated using a combination of intertidal, habitat, hight astronomical tide information and satellite imagery available in 2019. Queensland Wader Study Group (QWSG) members and committee were consulted to verify any updated sites. Summarised data provided by QWSG in 2019 was linked to each roost site
Incomplete. The dataset contains all migratory shorebird roost sites in the Great Sandy Marine Park and surrounds that could be linked to Queensland Wader Study Group survey data between 1995 and 2019. Other roost sites in the area were omitted from this layer due to insufficient supporting data. If more data becomes available, these sites may be added.

The spatial extent of each roost site is approximate due to the shifting nature of shorebirds, substrate and vegetation cover, acurracy of roost site boundaries is given at +/- 50 metres. Quantitative data linked to each roost site is a summary of data collected by Queensland Wader Study Group, a non-government volunteer organisation and is a reliable indicator on the abundance of species.
