ORIGIN Derived from the parish name. which was named after a small settlement in the district, possibly a pastoral station. Yulabilla appears on an 1883 Darling Downs Run Map within the boundaries of Delta pastoral run and close to where Dogwood Creek meets the Condamine River. Billa is believed to be an Aboriginal word (of unknown dialect) meaning a pool or reach of water [Surveyor-General's Office, Brisbane, Darling Downs Run Map, 1883; A. W. Reed; ANPS files].
HISTORY Named and bounded by the Minister for Natural Resources 25 February 2000. Regazetted on 9 December 2011 due to council amalgamations under the Local Government Reform Implementation Act 2007.
