Native to South America, creeping lantana was introduced as an ornamental garden plant but has become widely naturalised throughout eastern Australia, particularly in the coastal districts of central and south-eastern Queensland. It invades bushland and forms dense mats, displacing native vegetation and altering native habitat. In pasture systems, it reduces the amount of available grazing material and is toxic to stock.

Map layer extracted from Biosecurity Queensland pest distribution survey displaying distribution of individual invasive weed species.
Lantana: Creeping lantana
weeds", "pests"
}
