The Wet Tropics World Heritage Area lies between Townsville and Cooktown on the north-east coast of Queensland and covers an area of approximately 8940m^2. The area is composed of mostly public land, the majority of which is held in national park tenure. This dataset contains all of the sections that make up the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Area.
This dataset shows the location of the 14 section of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Section names identify the Protected Area of Queensland reserves or locality of that section if it extends beyond the extent of the system of reserves.

Where the WHA boundary does not follow the cadastre the boundaries are realigned to be consistent with the World Heritage Boundary of 1998.
