Spatial information describing quarry material management units including areas currently subject to a sales permit under the Forestry Act 1959 and areas where a sales permit is proposed to be issued.
Forest Products is a business unit of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries responsible for the allocation and sale of state-owned quarry material across state forests, timber reserves, leasehold lands, reserves, public roads and certain freehold lands where the state owns the quarry material.
To purchase state-owned quarry material a permit is required under the Forestry Act 1959. Permits include conditions to satisfy legislation including safety and environmental requirements.

Data input has been derived from various sources. The most common data source is from the DCDB. Other sources include GPS, imagery, cadastral plans and other miscellaneous maps, plans and digital data.
DCDB is generally used as a base or as control for other sources where internal division of an area is required.
The Quarry MUID data has been compiled from previous Quarry datasets and new capture work. Data sources include existing maps of varying accuracy, the digital Cadastre, GPS data and aerial imagery.
Digital Cadastre DataBase (DCDB) at varying times
Aerial imagery of varying source, resolution and date.
Gobal Positioning System (GPS) data af varying accuracy. Generally handheld GPS devices and GPS enabled tablet devices.
Conceptually the dataset contains records of varying accuracy based on aerial imagery, field data capture, historical mapping and current DCDB. Each site will have differing attributes and qualities which have varied over time. Some attrbutes are mandatory.
