A separate vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map has been provided for identifying these features for extractive industry in South East Queensland.

<suppInfo>This vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map (1:25000) – South East Queensland version 7.00 dataset is certified for use under the Vegetation Management Act 1999. It represents digital topographic data over selected Local Government areas of South East Queensland and has been devised from digital photogrammetry or scanning of existing mapping. The dataset is based on the Department's 1:25,000 watercourse network of Queensland.
The watercourse lines are segmented, concatenated and flow directed and when merged in with the canal line features create a linear network for hydrological modelling. Features are attributed with names where available. Features have been captured or updated from the best available imagery with an attribute within the data describing the source and reliability. Those features within the drainage basins that flow into the Coral Sea are generally captured at 1:25,000 mapping specifications, those features within the Fitzroy, Burdekin and Murray Darling drainage basins and those features that flow towards Lake Eyre have been captured at 1:100,000 mapping specifications while those that flow into the Gulf of Carpentaria have been captured at 1:50,000 mapping specifications.

Geoscience Australia will eventually populate the AusHydro ID with a unique identifier which will be used to create a 1:250,000 state wide network for inclusion in the national hydro geospatial fabric.
At the moment the western basins are stream ordered. Eventually all the basins will be stream ordered to 1:100,000 specifications. On completion a 1:100,000 state wide network will also be able to be extracted from the same dataset.
This dataset is stored in GDA94 geographic 2D (EPSG:4283), GDA2020 geographic 2D (EPSG:7844) or alternative coordinate reference systems can be specified when requesting download through the ClipZipShip Extraction service.</suppInfo>

<statement>This dataset is GDA2020 compatible. The source data, and therefore the captured features are georeferenced as GDA94 (horizontal only). The horizontal accuracy of the geo-referencing and/or data collection method for this example is greater than the datum offset between GDA94 and GDA2020 (1.8 meters). The resulting dataset has been nominated as a low-accuracy GDA2020 dataset. As this data has not been directly measured in GDA2020, nor transformed to GDA2020 the resulting data is 'GDA2020 Compatible', not Compliant.
This dataset has been compiled as part of a collaborative program between the Queensland Government and Geoscience Australia to upgrade the states hydrographic data for inclusion in the national hydro geospatial fabric.
The original data that this dataset has been compiled from was scanned from topographic repromats, captured by photogrammetry, digitised from satellite imagery or orthophotography or taken from Geoscience Australia 250000 topographic datasets with reliability dates ranging from 1978 to 2005. This original data has been spatially updated between 2010 and the start of 2014 using the best available imagery over the area, 10cm - 60cm orthophotography along much of the east coast to 2.5m satellite imagery over the interior, the Gulf of Carpentaria and Cape York Peninsula.
Original data is compared to current imagery and updated (moved to correct position, deleted as the feature no longer exits or added as the feature is new). Linear features within the data have been concatenated and segmented at intersections and flow directed down-stream to assist with hydrological modelling. Canal lines where applicable merge with watercourse lines. Features have been attributed with name and name source where available.
As part of the collaborative agreement between the Queensland Government and Geoscience Australia, both organisations undertook to update the features within allocated drainage basins. Those drainage basins updated by the Queensland Government were updated using Microstation Geographics V8 in MGA94 (GDA94) before the data was transformed to Latitude/Longitude (GDA94). Geoscience Australia undertook their update process using ESRI ArcGIS V9 or V10. The Queensland Government is responsible for merging all basins into a whole of state dataset stored within an ESRI Geodatabase that agrees with the Geoscience Australia Topographic Database Schema in Latitude/Longitude (GDA94).
