<idPurp>The vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map is the map certified by the chief executive as the vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map showing particular watercourses and drainage features for the State. This is the document 'vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map (1:100000 – 1:250000)' - Queensland, except South East Queensland version 7.05. It is used to identify watercourses and drainage features for all development applications to clear vegetation in Queensland, except in South East Queensland. It is also used for self-assessment under accepted development clearing codes and area management plans in Queensland, except in South East Queensland. Separate vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature maps has been provided for identifying these features in South East Queensland.

<suppInfo>This vegetation management watercourse and drainage feature map (1:100000 and 1:250000) – Queensland except South East Queensland version 7.05 dataset is certified for use under the Vegetation Management Act 1999. It represents digital topographic data over selected Local Government areas of South East Queensland and has been devised from digital photogrammetry or scanning of existing mapping. The dataset is based on the Department's 1:100,000 watercourse network of Queensland.
The watercourse lines are segmented, concatenated and flow directed and when merged in with the canal line features create a linear network for hydrological modelling. Features are attributed with names where available. Features have been captured or updated from the best available imagery with an attribute within the data describing the source and reliability. Those features within the drainage basins that flow into the Coral Sea are generally captured at 1:25,000 mapping specifications, those features within the Fitzroy, Burdekin and Murray Darling drainage basins and those features that flow towards Lake Eyre have been captured at 1:100,000 mapping specifications while those that flow into the Gulf of Carpentaria have been captured at 1:50,000 mapping specifications.

Geoscience Australia will eventually populate the AusHydro ID with a unique identifier which will be used to create a 1:250,000 state wide network for inclusion in the national hydro geospatial fabric.
At the moment the western basins are stream ordered. Eventually all the basins will be stream ordered to 1:100,000 specifications. On completion a 1:100,000 state wide network will also be able to be extracted from the same dataset.
This dataset is stored in GDA94 geographic 2D (EPSG:4283), GDA2020 geographic 2D (EPSG:7844) or alternative coordinate reference systems can be specified when requesting download through the ClipZipShip Extraction service.</suppInfo>
