Property Maps of Assessable Vegetation (PMAVs) are created pursuant to the sections 20B to 20G of the Vegetation Management Act 1999 as amended to 2009 Act No.43. PMAV's are certified property scale maps and allow landholders to clear regrowth in Category X areas without further approval and areas where approval is required. This dataset contains shapefiles sent with the official PMAV map and other documentation. This dataset does not legally represent the boundaries or area attributes of constituent PMAVs. The certified plan must be consulted when legal boundary definitions are required.

This data layer is built as PMAVs are certified. They are a snapshot of the DCDB, regional ecosystem and other data layers that go into creating them as at the date that the application is approved though these may have shifted prior to that. The data to create each shapefile is derived from datasets held on Department of Resources' Spatial Information Resource and any ancillary data such as GPS points used by the landholder or by the Department of Resources vegetation management officers or other data sources.

This dataset is GDA2020 compatible. The source data, and therefore the captured features are georeferenced as GDA94 (horizontal only). The horizontal accuracy of the geo-referencing and/or data collection method for this example is greater than the datum offset between GDA94 and GDA2020 (1.8 meters). The resulting dataset has been nominated as a low-accuracy GDA2020 dataset. As this data has not been directly measured in GDA2020, nor transformed to GDA2020 the resulting data is 'GDA2020 Compatible', not Compliant.
Shapefiles are created by regional vegetation management GIS staff and vegetation management officers and collated by the Vegetation Data team (Spatial Information). This dataset contains shapefiles sent with the official PMAV map and other documentation. This dataset does not legally represent the boundaries or area attributes of constituent PMAVs. The certified plan must be consulted when legal boundary definitions are required.
