This dataset displays dams within eastern Queensland. The area covered includes all the east coast drainage basins from the South Coast Drainage Basin (NSW border) to the Endeavour Drainage Basin (Cooktown)<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>and the Fitzroy and Burdekin Drainage Basins.<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>Dams are a small open body (less than 625 sq<\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN> metres) of fresh water surrounded by<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>land and collected and stored behind a constructed barrier for<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>a specific purpose.<\/SPAN> <\/SPAN>For such features larger than 625 sq<\/SPAN>.<\/SPAN> metres please refer to the Reservoirs dataset. Features are attributed with names and name source where available.
